A UK grassroots alternative to Tournify

Both build tournament timetables and show live scores. Here's an honest look at where each fits, for clubs running junior and grassroots football days in the UK.

In short Tournify is a well-established, multi-sport tournament app from the Netherlands. Zokko is a smaller UK tool built only for grassroots and junior football tournament days. It's free while in beta, with separate competitions for different age groups, formats and game lengths. If you run a one-day junior tournament or festival in the UK, Zokko is worth a look. If you run leagues, other sports or international events, Tournify probably suits you better.

Tournify details come from Tournify's own website and help centre, checked on 9 October 2026. Prices can change, so check the linked pages before you decide.

Questions

Is Zokko really free?
Yes, Zokko is free while in beta. Future pricing is planned per tournament rather than as a monthly subscription; final pricing has not been announced.
Is Tournify free?
Tournify has a free plan for up to 8 teams. Above that, its help centre lists £35 per tournament for up to 60 teams and £100 for unlimited teams, or a €300 yearly plan covering up to 30 tournaments (checked 9 October 2026).
Do parents need an app?
Not with Zokko. Parents open one link in their phone's browser, with no app and no account. Tournify offers a live website too, plus iOS and Android apps.
Can I take entry fees?
Yes. Zokko collects entry fees by card through your own Stripe account, either in full or as a deposit plus balance. Tournify takes payments through Mollie.
What if I run leagues or other sports?
Then Tournify is likely the better fit. Zokko is built only for one-day football tournaments and festivals.

Tournify is a trademark of Tournify B.V. Zokko isn't connected to Tournify. We've tried to describe Tournify fairly from its own published pages. If anything here is out of date, email ben@zokko.co.uk and we'll correct it.

Free while in beta

Got a tournament coming up?

Zokko runs the whole day from one screen: fixtures, entries, live scores, referees, first aid and a link parents can follow. It's free while in beta, the guide walks you through it, and I'm an email away when it doesn't.
